Some common reasons you may not be able to join a Room are not having permission to enter, using an unsupported web browser, or using a VPN that restricts your connection.

VPN or Strict Network
If you are having trouble entering a room and are currently on your organization's VPN or network, it may indicate that the platform has not been whitelisted by your IT team. To enter the room, try another network or disconnect from your VPN then refresh the page.
Before hosting an event, we highly recommend connecting a member of your IT team with our support team for guidance on whitelisting the platform to ensure easy access for users at your organization.

Join Settings & Permissions
When a host creates a Room, they have the opportunity to secure their Room by selecting from a variety of join settings. The loosest setting is "Only users with the link can join." If you know the Room has this join setting enabled, you should be able to join with a supported web browser.
On the other hand, the host may have chosen a setting like "Only my Connections can join." In this case, you will not be able to join the Room unless you meet the requirement. Someone may send you the link to the Room, but without the proper permissions, you will be denied entry.
Web Browser
The platform is currently operational on the latest version of Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, and Safari. If you attempt to use Scoot on another browser, you may have issues joining.
Mobile Phones and Tablets
You can also join via our iOS app and Android mobile browser. This is an easy way to access the platform while away from your desktop or laptop.
