How can I find people in a Room?

You can find people in a Room by utilizing your minimap, enabling the Compass, and using our chat function to message members of your Room and navigate towards them.

One of the best tools to help you find your connections while in a Room is the minimap located on the left-hand side of your screen. Here you can see your own ‘bubble’ with your initials in it as well as every one of your connections’ bubbles indicating where they are in the Room. By hovering over the bubbles with your mouse or trackpad, their names will appear in the top-right corner of the minimap. Then, simply navigate towards the people you desire to interact with.

As a host of a Room, you have the option to enable the Compass. In doing so, you and the other members of your social will see a compass appear as N, S, E, W in the background of your Room. You can use these quadrants to help direct people around your space and separate into groups. As the Room expands, the compass mode will create rings to further help direct people around the Room. Using the Room’s chat feature is a fun and simple way to find where your connections are in the room. By clicking on the message icon, a chat window will appear on the right-hand side of the screen where you will be able to chat with a group or any individual participant in your Room.

You can either use the search bar on the top of the chat window to select recipients or click on the dropdown menu located above the text box to message people directly within your Room. Simply scroll until you see the person whom you would like to chat with and click on their name to message them privately or select the “All” dropdown to send a public message to all members of your Room.

You can also message someone directly by hovering over their video bubble and clicking on the chat button that appears next to the Mute and Video toggle buttons.
